  • repeatable frameworks and tools to use in presentations throughout their careers
  • greater leadership potential by virtue of becoming more influential and effective communicators

About the workshop

Participant Limit

In order to support the unique needs of each presenter, the workshop is limited to 8 persons.

Length

2 days; 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with an hour for lunch (not provided)

Cost

$1200 per person

Day One

In advance of the workshop, each participant prepares two 5-7-minute work-related presentations. At the start of the workshop, participants deliver the first of the two presentations, which provides a benchmark to measure progress. Over the course of the day, participants discover how to:

  • Develop clear presentation objectives
  • Ensure an on-target, audience-focused message
  • Create a logical structure that supports the objectives
  • Create an Opening that gets attention
  • Set clear expectations and benefits for the audience
  • Explore a variety of influence-building tools to “prove the case”
  • Develop a strong Close and Call to Action
  • Create professional visual aids with a “less is more” approach
  • Identify the toughest questions the audience might ask—and prepare responses

Day Two

The morning begins with participant questions and comments about the previous day’s learnings and best practices. Next, participants will discover how to:

  • Use a variety of engagement techniques to get—and keep—audience attention
  • Present visual aids without losing contact with listeners
  • Use posture and body language to summon and convey confidence
  • Recognize and avoid bad (distracting, credibility-killing, etc.) habits
  • Use a range of techniques to reduce presentation-related nervousness

After lunch, participants apply what they’ve learned and make revisions to the second presentation they’ve prepared, before delivering it to the group. Each participant receives supportive, constructive feedback from the workshop leader and fellow participants—including comparisons to their Day 1 presentations. One day after the workshop, each participant receives a copy of the workshop leader’s notes on their final presentations along with personalized action plans for improving their presentation skills ongoingly.
